Emei Mountain
Mount Emei rises in the southwestern part of the Chengdu Plain in Emeishan City.
It is one of the four mountain ranges in China that Buddhists consider sacred. Its main peak is 3,099 meters above sea level. Supporting more than 3,000 specimens of plant and 2,000 types of animals, it is an important scenic area. It has long been protected from logging and encroachment by its proximity to the temple complex there. In 1996, Mt. Emei and the Grand Buddha in Leshan were included in the List of the World Famous Cultural Relics.
Mt. Emei is rich in natural and cultural heritage and carries several monikers: "Kingdom of Plants"," Paradise of Animals"," Geological Museum", "Buddhist Celestial Mountain" and is particularly famous for the title, " Elegance of
Mt.Emei Under The Sun". The Four Wonders of Mt.Emei are the Golden Summit Sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddhas Halo and the Holy Lamp.
The main scenic spots on the mountain include the Baoguo Temple, Wannian Temple, Fohu Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, Heilongjiang Tunnel, Hongchun Platform, Xianfeng Temple (Jiulao Cave), Xixiang Pond and Golden Summit.
